Tattoo Removal Cost

Tattoo Removal CostThe costs of removing a tattoo can vary a lot depending on which method of tattoo removal you wish to choose. Different methods have different success rates and different amount of treatments required in order to reach the desired success rate.

The size and colour of the tattoo(s) to be removed also play a major role in cost as logically a larger and more colourful tattoo will take longer and cost more to remove than a smaller singular colour tattoo would.

Laser Tattoo Removal Costs

Typically one session of laser treatment costs anywhere from £35-£120+. This depends on the size of the area that the tattoo is covering and the colour of the tattoo as this plays a major part in removal time and success rate. Typically between 4-12 sessions are required to completely remove an undesired tattoo.

Here at Tattoo Removal Manchester we know that laser tattoo removal can be expensive. What we do is speak to specialist approved clinics using the Q switched laser about your tattoo removal needs and negotiate prices with them so that the you get the best service at the lowest price.

Tattoo Removal Creams Cost

Again these vary a lot in price and most if not all are not effective. We recommend laser tattoo removal method over creams as the laser penetrates the epidermis and reaches the dermis (where the tattoo ink pigments are residing). A cream cannot reach this inner layer of skin to remove the tattoo. Most bleach the skin and so it may look like the tattoo has faded slightly.

Chemical Peels Cost

Chemical Peels contain TCA (TriChloroacetic Acid) and are usually used for acne treatments and skin rejuvenation in general. The cost varies a lot and they usually start from £75 (same as laser tattoo removal method). These are not 100% guaranteed to work for a tattoo so we do not recommend them for this purpose.

Dermabrasion Cost

The dermabrasion method is one that we do not recommend as there is a high possibility of scarring after performing this procedure and is not very effective as it peels off the top (epidermis) layers of skin and not the middle layer (dermis) where the tattoo lies. The costs vary and range from about £50-£100. Dermabrasion and micro dermabrasion is mostly used for scars like acne scars and facial rejuvination, NOT tattoo removal.

Surgery (Excision) Cost

Surgery is usually very expensive and has its complications. Depending on the size of the tattoo, skin graphs may need to be used (taking skin from another part of your body and using it on the tattoo area), plus scarring is likely. Depending on the size of the tattoo prices start around £1000.
